In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create a successful teapot and why that makes a difference. A good pour is crucial as it ensures the tea flows smoothly and evenly. The handle’s placement is also key; it should be comfortable and balanced to make pouring easy and enjoyable.
Throwing Off the Hump: Learn the traditional technique of throwing off the hump to create your teapot. This method allows for greater control and efficiency, and is perfect for crafting multiple pieces.
Handle Practice: Master the art of handle-making. Guide you through various techniques to create sturdy and aesthetically pleasing handles that complement your teapots.
Creative Exploration: Experiment with different shapes, sizes, and designs. This workshop is all about exploring your creativity and pushing the boundaries of traditional teapot making, while still keeping it successfully functional. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have four beautifully crafted teapots to take home, each a testament to your newfound skills and creativity.

Weekly Breakdown
Lesson 1 on 3/27 : We'll learn to throw one form of teapot and then make 2 different types of lids and spouts.
Lesson 2 on 4/3 : We'll trim, attach the parts, and add decorations if desired.
Lesson 3 on 4/10: We'll make another form of teapot along with the lid and spout. We will learn to make two different lids for this form.
Lesson 4 on 4/17: We'll complete trimming, attach handles, and add decorations if desired.
Lesson 5 on 5/1 (after two week break): We'll learn how to glaze the teapots in the most beneficial way.
